OLDTV
Playtime: 6.1 Hours
So when I originally played this game in 2017, I didn't think much of it. I just had it in mind at a "neat" game. Very simple controls, a bit of charm, but nothing that particularly stood out to me.
It was when I was going for the achievements 7 years later did I truly appreciate this game.
So there is basically 3 buttons you use. The mouse buttons and the spacebar. All you have to do is click the left mouse button when the color matches its name. And if not, click the right mouse button. Sounds easy enough right?
That's what I thought as well, then I found myself losing over and over again. They add in other variables, like "Do not switch" or "Inverted Controls". There are also times the background changes color as well. The game tries and succeeds at distracting you into making a mistake. I did better by turning off some settings to make it less distracting.
Switching from using my laptops trackpad buttons to my mouse made the game considerably easier for myself, because the input was considerably quicker. Once you get into a grove, you feel like you are on top of the world. All until you mess it all up. Sherlock mode, a setting that's unlocked after a quick streak of right answers, made it so that I never lost the game because of time loss, but because I put in the wrong input.
This game is actually brilliant in that it can be enjoyed by non-gamers as well. The controls are very easy to grasp and so is the concept of the game itself. I do believe I will be buying myself the ColdTV DLC and enjoy what's in stock there as well!
A simple, but very fun experience!
